Highlights of Milan Furniture Show
Wellworking were a part of the 300,000 plus visitors to the Milan Furniture Show (Salone Internazionale del Mobile) last week to see, touch and try out all the best office and domestic furnishings for 2011. The size and scope of the show make it a must see for anyone interested in design and future directions of the furniture industry. With over 200,000 sq. meters to explore, the Milan show combines the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, the biennial Euroluce / International Lighting Exhibition and the Salone Ufficio / International Biennial Workspace Exhibition.
The show also involves the entire city of Milan with many manufacturers holding events and launches to coincide with the event - some even making local news broadcasts!
With over 2500 exhibitors the highlights were many, but stunning displays from Italian lighting manufacturers Foscarini, Flos & Artemide, designer furniture manufacturers Kartell & Arper, new product launches from Vitra & Edra, European launch of Hag Capisco Puls, innovative glass desking from FIAM and Humanscale previewing new LED lighting caught the eye and will influence Wellworking product selection for 2011.
