Herman Miller SAYL wins Best Workplace Seating at FX Awards!  Sayl has picked up its second European award in as many weeks, winning the ‘Best Workplace Seating’ category at the FX International Interior Design Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Londonon Tuesday 29th November.

Wellworking are delighted to announce that Jonathan Gough is starting with us today, taking on the role of Business Development Manager, Ergonomic Services.
Jonathan has been working in the field of DSE and Ergonomic Assessments for the past 11 years, and he holds a TECH IOSH qualification in Health & Safety in addition to his DSE qualifications. 
Jon shares Wellworking's vision of the workplace and the relevance of social ergonomics, and his high levels of experience and professionalism make him a very exciting addition to our Ergonomics Services team.

Herman Miller SAYL chair was one of the four runner up products at the World Architecture News (WAN) Awards.

The judges noted the engineering and investment that had gone into this ‘fabulous’ product. They admired the aesthetics of the chair. “In terms of function and engineering it is amazing,” stated Ed Richardson after seeing SAYL in production. They were also impressed by SAYL’s price, noting it was ‘a remarkable feat for such a distinguished product’ - and for that reason it was unanimously felt that the chair should be shortlisted for the award.

Wellworking attended Mixology ’11, Old Billingsgate, London on June 8^th to see Herman Miller collect the Environmental & Social Impact Award.  Mixology is a combined annual award show and industry summer ball, run by Mix Interiors magazine, recognises and rewards the ground breakers and boundary pushers of the commercial interiors sector.  Judged by an independent panel of architects, specifiers and consultants to ensure credibility, entries are judged on their merits, not reputation, the panel using their own experience and industry knowledge to assess.

Herman Miller won the category for its International leadership on environmental stewardship and its social and communities work; the judges recognising the great efforts being made across the globe to improve the lives of others.

The Herman Miller Setu chair has reached the ‘In Book – Best of the year’ stage, and has been nominated for a prestigious ‘Yellow Pencil’ in the 2011 D&AD Awards.

Wellworking welcomes Lee Jones, (formally General Manager of The Back Store) as the newly appointed Director of Ergonomic Services.

Lee has been working in the field of “Office Ergonomics” for nearly 15 years (1996) and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in working with the corporate sector and assisting organisations with their ergonomic issues. Whether simply conducting a one off DSE Assessment or running contracts to manage the Ergonomic Assessment process for 1,000’s of staff.

Lee has been hired to apply his knowledge, and create, alongside Wellworking’s other offerings The Ergonomic Services division to be able to offer clients a truly holistic service.

Wellworking were a part of the 300,000 plus visitors to the Milan Furniture Show (Salone Internazionale del Mobile) last week to see, touch and try out all the best office and domestic furnishings for 2011. The 50th edition of the Milan furniture show and begins today and Wellworking will be there to see the latest design directions and influences for 2011.  Photo's and a report from the event will available next week.

The Saloni furniture show, Euroluce lighting exhibition, young designers fair, home accents and office furniture exhibition is considered the most important event of its type in the world. 

The Milan furniture started in 1961 and it has grown to be one of the largest trade fairs on the planet with 300,000 visitors last year with over 2,500 exhibitors in an area that measures in excess of 200,000 square metres.  We hope to see you there!

Wellworking have recently completed a new office furniture project for Medisafe UK Ltd.  Using Herman Miller’s Sense desking for the main open-plan areas, alongside Form by Tangent for the CEO and UK Managing Director with Mirra task chairs and CPU holders from Herman Miller.

Flo monitor arm from CBS was used to smoothly integrate the IT requirements around the workstation along with full height storage wall from James Tobias and tambour door units from Herman Miller were incorporated to give Medisafe ample storage for their day-to-day filing and also expansion space for the future.

The training room uses the Pad chair from DynaMobel and boardroom area has been created using the Eona table fromThinking Ergonomix and Setu chairs from Herman Miller.

Wellworking have recently completed a 150 workstation project for the London based media company Walker Media.  This project was completed alongside the client’s renowned designer, Jason Maclean of Maclean Interiors in 3 phases using Workit desking from Vitra, DIS task and meeting room seating from Dynamobel, Herman Miller Storage and Zorro monitor arms and loop CPU holders from Colebrook Bosson Saunders.  

The result is a stunning workplace that reflects the key strengths of this industry-leading company.  Photography is now available in our project portfolio of this impressive project.

Wellworking have just completed a furniture project for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in London. 128 workstations were installed over three weekends using Dynamobel TEC desking.  The objective of the client was to increase the workstation capacity of the 2 floors by dropping down to a 1600 x 800 footprint.

Wellworking also dismantled the existing furniture, churning the existing desks that were being re-used and taking the surplus desks into storage.

When thinking about Green credentials of office furniture it's easy to get confused with claims and counter claims.  This month's On Office magazine takes an in depth look at 'greenwash' and sheds new light on the latest debates on what constitutes a 'green' product.  Thinking Ergonomix, are featured in the article as an example of an office furniture manufacturer to whom an environmentally friendly product is more than just an ISO number.  To read more click here or to view the Thinking Ergonomix range of products click here.

Wellworking have recently completed a project for the award-winning National Bank of Abu Dhabi to furnish their London Headquarters.

Working closely with the client, Wellworking were able to put together a solution covering both the executive and general areas, while dealing effectively with intensive storage and high IT usage requirements.  The products proposed offered durability combined with design excellence and included Herman Miller Mirra task chairs, Herman Miller GSS storage and Abak Environments systems desking.  To read more about this project click here.
