Arper Home Office

Herman Miller will be presenting ‘The Art and Science of Seating’ at the Milan National Design Centre, starting today at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (17^th-22^nd April).  

The Herman Miller Milan space will feature an innovative display displaying the evolution of Herman Miller seating, focussing on the philosophy of human centered design and problem solving solutions. Materials innovation and design artefacts will be showcased, providing an insight into the concepts and processes employed to develop the Eames Plywood chair, Ergon, Aeron, Mirra, Setu, Embody and SAYL. The display will be supported by unique video footage and early design drawings and sketches from Herman Miller’s archives.   

The Milan National Design Centre will be open from 9am to 10.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

Wellworking now have a blog that we will use for greater insight into products, ideas and thoughts about the products and services Wellworking offer.  Our first blog is about Rollermouse and why it is such a great alternative to traditional input devices.  Lee Jones (Director of Wellworking Ergonomic Services) has highlighted some interesting facts about mouse usage and how it effects the body.

The Herman Miller Aeron chair will be featuring on a new Design Museum Collection app that will be available from the 28^th March for iPad, 3^rd May for iPhone and the 5^th June for Android. 

Featuring alongside modern design classics such as the Dyson vacuum cleaner, the Vespa, & Kindle the app will include short films, images & stories on Aeron with commentary from Design Museum Director, Deyan Sudjic, and the museums founding director, Stephen Bayley.

At almost 20 years old, the Aeron still remains an icon of design excellence.

Wellworking have recently donated an Aeron chair to Trekstock, a London based charity that supports young people with cancer, by raising funds and awareness through music, fashion and art collaborations, and organised trekking experiences.

All profits will fund the lifesaving research for the specific types of cancer that affect this age group.  Trekstock is works with the very best Cancer Research UK scientists who attempt to help prevent, diagnose, treat, and ultimately beat cancer.

The February edition of Computer Shopper magazine have reviewed 12 office chairs and both the Herman Miller Aeron & Mirra chairs have been awarded five stars!  The Aeron was given the 'ultimate' accolade and described as "supremely comfortable and comes with a stunning 12 year warranty."  The Mirra took out the 'best buy' catagory and was described as "a brilliant office chair, highly adjustable and very supportive."  Wellworking couldn't agree more!

Over the festive period Wellworking have completed a project for 105 positions for leading finance company HG Capital.  To minimise disruption, the works were carried out over 3 days between Christmas & New Year at the client's landmark London office overlooking Tower Bridge.
