Marshmallow Sofa
Nelson's Marshmallow Sofa design transformed the traditional sofa into a three-dimensional pattern. It consists of 18 brightly-coloured sections of upholstery all supported by a simple steel structure. This unusual shape and construction make Marshmallow Sofa one of design history's more unusual creations.
An extension element consisting of six individual cushions can be mounted between two sofas, allowing sofa to be extended as required - giving you the ability extend the sofa to fill your particular requirements.

Design
George Nelson
His collaboration with Vitra began in 1957. From 1946 onwards Nelson also ran his own design office, creating numerous products that are now regarded as icons of mid-century modernism.
Nelson's office also produced important architectural works and exhibition designs. George Nelson died in New York in 1986. His archive belongs to the holdings of the Vitra Design Museum.
