Eames DSR RE Plastic Side Chair - Create Your Own
The Vitra Eames DSR Plastic Side Chair with rod 'Eiffel Tower' base is a modern version of the legendary Eames Fiberglass Chair.
Produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Modern Art in New York's Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition, it was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair. A timeless classic chair that looks great in any environment.
From January 2024, the shells of the Eames Plastic Chairs are now made of recycled post-consumer plastic. These chairs are known as Eames Plastic Chairs RE. The recycling material stems from Germany's 'Yellow Bag' (Gelber Sack) collection of household waste, which primarily consists of used packaging.
Using the recycled material for the seat shell, instead of conventional plastic, generates fewer climate-damaging emissions and significantly reduces energy consumption.
